Roblox developer Wonder Works Studio is building an intergalactic club to bring dance culture to the metaverse.
Roblox (NYSE: RBLX), a global platform that brings millions of people together through shared experiences, kicks off the new year with the first DJ set performed by an avatar of international star David Guetta. Developed in collaboration with Roblox developer Wonder Works Studio and Warner Music Group (WMG), the DJ set will premiere this Friday, February 4th at 4pm PT and continue throughout the weekend in an interactive universe , which is powered by the latest Roblox technology and visual improvements. The pre-show experience opens today.
Following recent wins including DJ Mag's Top DJ of 2021 and Best Electronic Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards, as well as a Grammy and three Brit Award nominations, David Guetta will appear as his avatar self in an intergalactic themed set , where contestants can navigate the show through an obstacle course that traverses asteroids. Featuring crystals, neon lights, lasers, holograms and blaring speakers, the ethereal virtual universe takes fans through DJ and dance battles, a secret puzzle to unlock special abilities and archives, virtual goods (“verch”) for purchase and together as prizes, questions and Answers with the Star and a 45 minute music set for the Roblox community.
