Just a few weeks after the original date, UNIFY Forever was postponed to March.
UNIFY confirmed on social media that this year's festival will no longer take place in January and has instead been moved to the previously announced replacement weekend from Thursday 10 March to Sunday 13 March 2022.
"Given the surge in COVID-positive cases and the impact it is having on the health system and staffing levels, we received critical advice yesterday from key stakeholders, including emergency services, that the resources needed to carry out UNIFY Forever are available to the January dates required would be limited. " due to the pandemic, "UNIFY said in a statement.
“As we hope you all understand, we cannot proceed safely without confirmation of appropriate emergency medical services and other key event staff in January. Although not the result we were hoping for, security is always a priority at UNIFY and it is the best decision we can make given the current situation. "
UNIFY also confirmed that all tickets for the postponed March dates will remain valid. At the time of writing, most of the original lineup is still intact, although more updates will follow in the coming weeks.
“We appreciate your support and patience during this time, and thank all of the staff, agents, managers, artists, venues and crews who worked tirelessly on UNIFY Forever to make it a reality. Hold on, everyone. Come in March! ”They added.
UNIFY Forever was set to be a mammoth event, with headliners The Amity Affliction and Violent Soho leading the line-up. The celebration of all things heavy music envisioned an all-Australian line-up highlighting the surplus of local Australian talent.
