June 2nd marks the 35th anniversary of the release of Randy Travis' iconic debut album, Storms of Life. It is arguably one of the most important albums in country music history.

To celebrate this milestone, Warner Music Nashville will reissue the album first released in 1986 in a fully remastered 35th Anniversary Deluxe Edition on September 24th. More importantly, the remake features three previously unreleased recordings by Randy Travis. This would be newsworthy by any country legend. But in the case of Randy Travis, it's even more meaningful to see how a stroke in 2013 stole his Hall of Fame vote too soon from us.

"I love the timeless lyrics and traditional country instruments like steel guitar, banjo, piano, fiddle," says Travis of the album. “It was music that I believed in, that told a story that I wanted to share. We were fortunate to have a large catalog of songs to choose from that were more traditional. Back then, people and the radio really didn't play that kind of music. Most people recorded more of an urban cowboy sound, so I could choose from the best of the best, the crème de la crème. It was exciting for all of us to return to our roots. "

Produced by Kyle Lehning with the help of selected songs by Keith Stegall, Storms of Life went triple platinum and won the 1986 ACM Award for Album of the Year. "On The Other Hand" from the album also won the ACM Award for Song of the Year.

The unreleased songs of the new deluxe edition are called "Ain't No Use", "Carryin 'Fire" and "The Wall". Saving Country Music has painstakingly tried to find out the songwriters on the unreleased songs and to confirm whether the songs were actually recorded during the original Storms of Life sessions, to no avail, although assurances have been given that this information will follow shortly.

What we do know is that Randy recorded "Ain & # 39; t No Use" as the lead song on his 1982 debut album "Randy Ray: Live from the Nashville Palace" and, like most of the songs on that album, was written by Randy Travis himself.

While this won't be a new album from Randy Travis, Storms of Life (35th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) will be the next best with the unreleased songs. Pre-orders for the album will start on August 27th.
