Ringo Starr and Peter Gabriel are among the artists participating in a livestream marking the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.

Titled "Peace Through Music: A Global Social Justice Event," it is a special celebration that marks the great landmark of the United Nations.

The lineup is absolutely huge, showing new and archived performances from over 100 artists. There will be notable performances by various artists such as Aloe Blacc, Annie Lennox, Mavis Staples, Run the Jewels with Josh Homme, Gary Clark Jr., Mike McCready of Pearl Jam with Brandi Carlile and Yo-Yo Ma.

There will also be special celebrity appearances from Billie Eilish, Ellie Goulding, Megan Rapinoe and Norman Lear.

The event is produced by Playing for Change, which, in collaboration with Blackbird Presents, aims to connect people around the world through music. They hope that the global virtual event will inspire people to act for peace, justice and justice everywhere and for all.

"We're stronger together than apart, and it's an honor to work with like-minded artists and charities who share that feeling," said Mark Johnson, co-founder of Playing for Change.

"The power of music is a tool with which we can unite and eliminate racism, inequality, poverty and all the other diseases that have plagued our world for far too long."

Dr. Natalia Kanem, Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund, added: “Music is a wonderful medium for raising awareness of our common pursuit of peace, justice, equality and dignity – the noble ideals of the United Nations. It is a powerful, uniform language that can help build bridges and advance social justice in all its forms. "

The livestream will raise funds for a number of nonprofits, including the Playing for Change Foundation, the United Nations Population Fund, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.

The All-Star Event will premiere exclusively on Facebook Live this GivingTuesday, December 1, at 3:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 a.m. AEDT.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to change their communities and the world.
