Galways Niamh Regan has returned with "Love You Senseless", the second single from their upcoming EP "In the Meantime". It builds on the illustrious success of the debut album nominated by RTE Choice He met (Black Gate Records, 2020) and the first single from the EP, & # 39; Happy Again & # 39; (which you may have heard on the airwaves recently thanks to Radcliffe & Maconie and Gideon Coe on BBC Radio 6 Music, The Folk Show BBC 2 and Iain Anderson on BBC Scotland.)
"Love You Senseless" is an airy love song about the cyclical challenges of helping someone who doesn't want to be helped.
“I've waited for the guilt to wear off,” she sings, recalling a sunny, melodic sensibility reminiscent of the early Stevie Nicks and Karen Dalton. A summery feeling of nostalgia and novelty goes up and down through the layers of instrumentation. As a natural storyteller, Regan's voice is all her own, and with production from Alex Borwick"Love You Senseless" reaffirms Regan's place as one of the most iconic songwriters working in Ireland today.
Regarding the writing of the song, Niamh says, "It can be difficult to watch someone you love fight, and this song focuses on how we can fix it and how irritable and guilty we can get when there is no immediate answer. "
& # 39; Love You Senseless & # 39; revolves around the challenges of misunderstandings and is a love song at heart, and the soaring, poignant chorus "I love you senseless, I love you blindly, love me through it, it's worth it for me" linger with the listener long after the end of the Song.
"Love You Senseless" will be released next Thursday, October 21st.
Niamh plays at The Duncairn, Belfast, Friday 19th November (sold out) and The Green Note, London, Wednesday 24th November. Book tickets at http://niamhregan.com/tour.html
