Listen: Invisible Ensemble -
Danse Macabre Music.jpg

“Danse Macabre” is an outstanding track from a nostalgic New Wave sound that is fondly reminiscent of The Psychedelic Furs Invisible ensemble. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, the artist now works in a home studio near Canberra, Australia. "Danse Macabre" promotes captivating vocals, creeping guitar tones and melodic synth embellishments – a sound that is suitable for chilled, autumnal nights and those who want to consume new wave nostalgia. "Danse danse, oh danse Macabre," says the choir, including references to skeletons. The reflective, scaled-down bridge at 2:45 a.m., rich in vintage synth tones, is reminiscent of Ryuichi Sakamoto's new wave collaborations. "Danse Macabre" is a thorough melodic and aesthetic hit from Invisible Ensemble.
