"The River" is a new track by AMFM, struts a hazy rock sound with plenty of melodic engagement. The project comes through David Caruso, who produces his tracks from Brooklyn. Hypnotic guitar swell compliments the chant, which reflects the passage of time, noting that things are “just like yesterday” while simultaneously looking to years to come. As you approach the two-minute mark, a dose of spacey synthesizers adds to the structured bliss. The wave of shoegaze-y guitars that follows rounds off this section as a stellar sequence of events. "The River" is a well-produced gem that rewards the listener with hypnotic structural charm and a strong melodic output.
