Paul McCartney revealed his recipe for the “perfect sandwich” in a new interview and it definitely sounds like an acquired taste.

Speaking to British comedian Romesh Ranganathan while promoting his late wife Linda's Family Kitchen cookbook, McCartney explained what he thought was the "perfect sandwich." Be warned – just reading what it says is probably enough to get your nose turned up.

The main ingredients in Paul McCartney's Perfect Sandwich recipe are marmite, hummus, cheese, and lettuce, all on a honey mustard bagel. The musician explained his method of making the snack to Ranganathan.

"I'll take a bagel, I'll cut it in three," he said. “Often times you have two bagels, so now you cut them into six. So you have an up and a down, an up and a down, and two centers. You can make three sandwiches out of this. "

He continued, “So I put the bottom layer of Marmite on and then I would put some lettuce on because I put hummus on it, but it will go through the hole if I don't put any salad on.

Maybe you can get some chopped cheese there, maybe a slice of tomato, and then maybe a cucumber or two. Then you go back to your salad barrier because there is still a hole at the top, keep that in mind so you have to protect it from that. Then I applied honey mustard. "

McCartney's daughter Mary then stepped in and said, "In a McCartney sandwich, we're not afraid of a condiment." A bit of an understatement, Mary.

There's just so much going on in this “perfect sandwich” recipe. I think my mouth would panic even if I tried a bite. I suppose you're a Beatles legend, a music icon, but I'm not sure you're a culinary master, Paul.
