New Orleans' World-Renowned Tipitina's Unveils 'Tipitina's Record Club'

Tipitina, the legendary New Orleans nightclub owned and operated by the band Galacticannounced Tipitina's Record Club, a new subscription service that features six annual vinyl releases celebrating the music and culture of New Orleans and the Gulf South.

Tipitina's Record Club will feature specially curated bi-monthly releases that include archive milestones, never-before-heard rarities, out of print reissues and brand new recordings, all in limited editions, 180g vinyl in custom colors, exclusively for subscribers. Bi-monthly and yearly subscriptions are available immediately. Shipping is free for subscribers in the adjacent US. In addition, Tipitina Record Club members will have exclusive access to upcoming special events that will be announced shortly.

Tipitina's record club will officially open in February 2021 with the release of Professor Longhairs FESS AT HOME ’73, a previously unheard-of recording that shows the pioneering singer-pianist in a uniquely intimate and personal setting. Future TRC releases include The Radiators & # 39; KUNG POW !! "Our band was on both sides of the stage at Tipitina," adds Galactic's Robert Mercurio. “We all started going there as fans, then our band played there a lot, until now we've been the stewards of the ship. We know the club has a deep musical history connected to it and we thought this record club would be a great way to share a part of that history with everyone – and what fits better than being on vinyl. We dug deep into our treasure chest and planned some great gigs and super rare reissues. ”

The Tipitina is of course one of the most famous music venues in America. Since opening in 1977, Tipitina & # 39; s has stood the test of time with the most talented musicians and groups from New Orleans and around the world, including the renowned instrumental outfit Galactic from Crescent City. In late 2018, Galactic announced the purchase of the internationally renowned two-story yellow building on the corner of Tchoupitoulas Street and Napoleon Avenue, designed to both promote Tipitina's rich traditions and celebrate the remarkable musical history of the Gulf South.
