Riding on a remarkable wave of success after a hugely productive 2021 – a year in which the Munich talent surpassed countless career milestones at the speed of knots – Innellea now rides to open the new year in the same vein he last closed, as he unveiled his latest multi-faceted creative concept, Distorted youth.

“Distorted Youth is an immersive audiovisual experience. An EP, a music video, a new clothing line for my brand “INN” and a really innovative new global live tour concept. The whole package also has a deeper meaning that everyone can discover and interpret for themselves. We are all the product of our own distorted youth.”
Outnowvia records after death, the four-track Distorted Youth EP marks Innellea's much-anticipated return to the esteemed Italian imprint, following his flawless debut in 2018 with Vigilian's EP and his second album The World Returns EP in 2019.
Adding another prestigious string to its ever-expanding musical arc, Innellea christens the highly-anticipated player with the overwhelming opener Faced Reality. A staple of his captivating live sets and a firm crowd favorite at Printworks (London), Zamna (Tulum), Warung Beach Club (Itajaí) and Bar Americas (Guadalajara) over the past few months, Innellea combines mind-bending synth riffs with explosive beats and a wealth of atmospheric timbres while laying an unstoppable foundation for the rest of the EP.

Next up is the defiant title track Distorted youth. First released during the international broadcast of his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix on 8th January, Innellea's unbridled creativity and innate disposition to break with form produces an epic breakbeat anthem crammed with syncopated polyrhythms, euphoric interludes and a warm blanket of subtlety . Bass that encapsulates the listener through and through. Distorted Youth features a heavily urban vibe and will be complemented on February 9th with a dark and sinister official music video created by Innellea and the Munich filmmaker Marco Fumolo.
The EP's penultimate track pulls the audience into a whole other world as the sought-after producer embarks on a cosmic journey through consciousness to bring us loss of hope. A dynamic and spirited performance, underpinned by cavernous basslines, ethereal samples and throbbing four-four beats, Innellea's trademark blend of melodic introspection and post-apocalyptic club music shines front and center while wielding another grandiose, euphoric weapon to blast everyone Register pulls.
With a spellbinding finale bringing the EP to a flawless conclusion, Innellea demonstrates his tremendous production prowess as he embarks on the ominous weeding cut Irreversible. Untangling a hostile web of menacing underground soundscapes, pummeling kicks and raw sonic patterns, Innellea pierces the imagination with his mind-bending tones and exemplary use of juxtaposition and surprise to complete another notable EP on Afterlife and one of the most diverse releases on the label til today.
The release of Distorted Youth also marks the launch of Innellea's first live touring concept, which will see the multifaceted German talent headlining over a dozen major shows across Europe and North America between February and May. Michi launches at Village Underground in London on February 5th, bringing the fully immersive live concept to some of electronic music's most prestigious venues, with stops in New York, Madrid, Stockholm, Tel Aviv, Beirut, Ukraine, Cairo, Malta and Lyon , to name just a few.
