After announcing a remix album for Above & Beyond's groundbreaking Group Therapy earlier this month, the group finally unveiled the album with the help of a stacked list of artists recreating some of their most iconic songs.
Each of the artists selected for the group therapy rework did a phenomenal job of paying respect to the original while adding their own unique touch. There isn't a single theme in the album's 12 remixes that offer listeners a familiar experience full of twists and turns.
The album begins with CRi's emotional remix of "Filmic" and quickly changes gears with a rapid rework of "Sun & Moon" by trance music luminary Ilan Bluestone. This dynamic and rapid change is reflected in Hybrid Minds, who deliver a rumbling remix of "Love Is Not Enough".
With his interpretation of "Sun In Your Eyes" Spencer Brown delivers one of the most effective and impressive revisions of the role. The airy melody paints a vivid picture of the warm summer days we long for at this time of year.
Above & Beyond didn't just stop at the remix album. Those interested in commemorating a truly memorable LP can purchase a vinyl box with a total of six records, a slipmat and some prints. The trio has also announced that the remix album will have a sequel in summer 2022.
