Avicii, Eric Prydz, Robyn, Swedish House Mafia, Alesso … the list goes on.

The myth of today's rave scene runs through Swedish dance music. These artists and countless others played a crucial role in the 2010s EDM boom in the US, and we owe that to their generation music.

This week, Tomorrowland's One World Radio examines the impact of Swedish electronic music from the perspective of its influential artists. The schedule includes an hour-long episode celebrating the effects of the Swedish House Mafia, an anecdotal show hosted by Laidback Luke, and a “Friendship Mix” curated by Alesso that is not to be missed. You can tune in here.

Tomorrowland fans can also vote for the top 100 "Made in Sweden" songs. The voting is open until Thursday, October 7th, and the final charts will be announced the following day.

In addition, the organizers of the legendary Belgian music festival are currently picking up the pieces after a turbulent year and a half. According to Tomorrowland spokeswoman Debby Wilmsen, the brand is following three unprecedented weekends in 2022 to "cushion the financial hangover" caused by multiple cancellations due to the uncertainty of COVID-19.

After Tomorrowland was canceled in 2020, the 2021 festival looked promising after Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said the government's “freedom plan” should allow for major festivals by late summer. However, their approval to host the event was vigorously denied by the mayors of Boom and Rumst, who said it posed "public safety and health risks". Ultimately, the organizers were forced to cancel the 2021 edition due to the controversial decision that Wilmsen called "sledge hammer blow".

Tomorrowland representatives have not yet announced any dates for the 2022 iteration of the festival. The Tomorrowland Winter spin-off event is scheduled for Nov. 19-16. Planned March 2022 in the central French western Alps.
