"In a world where online music collaboration is accelerating, it's critical that technological hardware and software stay innovative with seamless experiences," said Chris Beeby, director, Integrated Marketing & Partnerships at Microsoft, in a press release. "The new Surface Laptop Studio and Surface Pro 8, both with world-class performance and PixelSense touchscreens, are the perfect creative tools for music production, allowing DJs and producers to collaborate in real time from anywhere."

The first taste of what Originals2 has to offer will come on December 2nd at the Art Basel Summit in Miami Beach with the debut of "Party Mode", a feature in the Beatport DJ app and optimized for surface touchscreen Interfaces.

According to a press release announcing the partnership, Beatport LINK and Surface will join two iconic electronic music artists – Jamie Jones and Loco Dice – to perform a remote DJ set.
